Today I was watching our Reverend speak at Unity of Dallas and this was one of his favorite books, "Discover the Power within You". I am reading through it and love it! Some more quotes from Eric below:

For one thing, space research has enabled man to achieve a break-through into another dimension. The more he sees of the Universe around him, the more he realizes that space and time are relative, and that the whole cosmos is like a great thought in the Mind of God. He begins to see that the Universe exists, as far as he is concerned, because he sees it. The center of the Universe, as far as you are concerned, is within you. As far as you are concerned, the Universe exists as an extension of you. The sun and moon and stars are there because you see them.

Viewing the vastness of the Universe, we tend to become confused when we seem to be losing our identity. But we must remember that the Universe has meaning because we have meaning, and we have meaning because the Universe has meaning. All discovery is self-discovery and all knowledge is self-knowledge. Thus the greatest discovery in science is not the outward accomplishments, but the inward revelation and the Truth that sets us free to take the outer step.

Thus the ultimate of our research into the Universe around us must come in the knowledge of the Mind that sustains it, the Mind in which it actually has its only existence. And the study of Mind can only be done through introspection, self-contemplation, and spiritual research.

“You were born to achieve, to release your inner power, to fulfill your uniqueness.”

“Behind every brilliant performance there were countless hours of practice and preparation.”

“Your fortune is not something to find but to unfold.”

“There is only one way in which you can "change your luck" and that is by altering your thoughts.”

“One of the best things to do sometimes is simply to be.”

“...within you now and always is the unborn possibility of a limitless experience of inner stability and outer treasure, and yours is the privilege of giving birth to it. And you will, if you can believe.”

“There is no such thing as a lack of faith. We all have plenty of faith, it's just that we have faith in the wrong things. We have faith in what can't be done rather than what can be done. We have faith in lack rather than abundance but there is no lack of faith. Faith is a law.”

“Evil, and evil spirits, devils and devil possession, are the outgrowth of man's inadequate consciousness of God. We must avoid thinking of evil as a thing in itself-a force that works against man or, against God, if you will.”

“God can only do for you what He can do through you.”

“A committed giver is an incurably happy person, a secure person, a satisfied person, and a prosperous person.”

“We have been taught to keep the commandments, and we have kept them all too well. We have enshrined them like religious relics in sealed containers on the altar. Thus, it could be said that one lives by the commandments in much the same way as many persons live by a neighbor, never learning his name, let alone having any understanding communication with him.”

“We are human in expression, but divine in creation and limitless in potentiality.”

“SIN: Self-Inflicted Nonsense”

“The goal should not be to make money or acquire things, but to achieve the consciousness through which the substance will flow forth when and as you need it.”

“A true desire is not to have but to be. We are whole creatures in potential, and the true purpose of desire is to unfold that wholeness, to become what we can be.”

“We can become bitter or better as a result of our experiences.”

“There is only one way by which you can achieve prosperity. It is to take charge of your mind.”

“We don't change what we are, we change what we think what we are.”

“Our job is not to set things right but to see them right.

“Don't go through life, grow though life”

“Where you are in consciousness has everything to do with what you see in experience.”

“Things may happen around you, and things may happen to you, but the only things that matter are the things that happen in you.”

“Most people show up for work being physically accoutered but mentally disheveled.”

“...we should always act as if it were impossible to fail.”

“The thing I fear comes upon me”

“More important than learning how to recall things is finding ways to forget things that are cluttering the mind.”

The history of man on the eternal quest has been a strange odyssey. In his search for the "holy grail" man has looked everywhere and in vain, but he has failed to look within himself.
