A Course in Miracles is a book, a guide, a philosophy I have been studying since 2005.  It is also known as ACIM or just the Course to many.  The below is from the Preface of the Course which tells a little more about it:

As its title implies, the Course is arranged throughout as a teaching device. It consists of three books: a 669-page Text, a 488-page Workbook for Students, and a 92-page Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depend on their particular needs and preferences.

The curriculum the Course proposes is carefully conceived and is explained, step by step, at both the theoretical and practical levels. It emphasizes application rather than theory, and experience rather than theology. It specifically states that “a universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary” (Manual, p. 77). Although Christian in statement, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes. It emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum. There are many others, this one differing from them only in form. They all lead to God in the end.

I use many quotes from A Course in Miracles and wanted to show a little more data on what the annotation is built upon below:

The present is before time was, and will be when time is no more. ⁶In it are all things that are eternal, and they are one (ACIM, T-13.VI.6:5-6)

• 13 = Chapter 13

• VI = Section VI (of Chapter 13)

• 6 = Paragraph (in Section VII)

• 5-6 = Line 5 and 6 (of Paragraph 6)

Then close your eyes upon the world you see, and in the silent darkness watch the lights that are not of this world light one by one, until where one begins another ends loses all meaning as they blend in one. (ACIM, W-129.7:5)

• 129 = Lesson 129

• 7 = Paragraph 7

• 5 = Line 5 (of Paragraph 7)

Helpers are given you in many forms, although upon the altar they are one. ⁴Beyond each one there is a Thought of God, and this will never change. (ACIM, C-5.1:3-4)

• C = Clarification of Terms

• 5 = Section 5

• 1 = Paragraph 1

• 3-4 = Line 3 and 4 (of Paragraph 5)

God’s Word has promised that peace is possible here, and what He promises can hardly be impossible. ⁸But it is true that the world must be looked at differently, if His promises are to be accepted. ⁹What the world is, is but a fact. ¹⁰You cannot choose what this should be. ¹¹But you can choose how you would see it. ¹²Indeed, you must choose this. (ACIM, M-11.1:7-12)

M = Manual for Teacher

• 11= Section 11

• 1 = Paragraph 1

• 7-12 = Line 7-12 (of Paragraph 1)
